In the application, confirm if you are a DACA recipient or unlawfully present in the United States. In accordance with the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents, individuals considered to be unlawfully present in the United States, including DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipients, are not eligible for admission to Georgia Institute of Technology, Refer to the USG policy.

Provide your biographical information such as name, address, citizenship, and other information

Confirm that you have selected the correct application level and choose the program you intend to study as well as the campus and entry term. The program you choose will impact the campus and entry term availability.

This section will vary based on the program to which you are applying. You will be asked grad program-specific information, such as adding your research experience, writing samples, faculty selection, and more.

You must list and provide an unofficial transcript for every post-secondary institution you have attended regardless of whether you received a degree.

• An unofficial transcripts is an official transcript that you, the applicant, have directly provided us. This is sufficient for the review process. If you accept an offer of admission, you will be required to submit official transcripts.
• If documents are not in English, you must upload an English translation certified by the college or university that issued it.

If you are admitted, you must provide your official transcript(s). Georgia Tech accepts the following official transcripts:

• Electronic copy (preferred method): Electronic official transcripts can be emailed directly by the institutions you have attended to transcripts@grad.gatech.edu or directly sent by Parchment, eScrip-SAFE, National Student Clearing House, or Digitary.
• Hard copy (only if your transcripts cannot be sent electronically): Paper official transcripts can be sent directly by the institutions you have attended via post mail or sent by you in the original, unopened, school sealed envelope Your full name must appear on the envelope along with your nine-digit Application Reference Number.

Provide employment information from the past two years.

If you are affiliated with a military from any country, you will provide information related to specific country, branch, or agency.

Provide contact information for up to three recommenders, depending on the program’s specific requirements. Recommendations should come from either an academic or professional reference.

Recommenders will be asked to provide information regarding:

• Acquaintance with the Applicant
• Applicant’s Characteristics and Abilities
• Overall Recommendation
• Additional Comments
• Upload Recommendation Letter 

In accordance with the University System of Georgia policy, all students who are admitted to Georgia Tech and residing in the United States must verify their lawful presence prior to registering for classes in order to receive in-state tuition and other state benefits.

The Office of Graduate Education recommends that you submit your lawful presence documentation with your application, but it is not required at the time of application.

U.S. citizens should upload one of the following to verify your lawful presence::

• Current U.S. passport or U.S. passport card.
• Current Georgia driver’s license or Georgia ID issued after Jan. 1, 2008. We cannot accept a limited-term license.
• Current out-of-state REAL ID driver’s license or REAL ID state-issued ID card may be accepted. Restrictions apply. Not all states are accepted. View the list of eligible states and requirements (PDF).
• Original or certified U.S. birth certificate. A copy must be issued by a state, county, municipal authority, or territory of the U.S., and it must bear the official seal. 
• U.S. Certificate of Naturalization (USCIS form N-550 or N-570). 
• U.S. Certificate of Citizenship (USCIS form N-560 or N-561). 
• U.S. Certificate of Birth Abroad, issued by the Department of State (DS-1350).
• Consular Report of Birth Abroad (FS-240).

Self-Reported Test Scores

In this section, you will have the opportunity to upload test scores. Uploaded test scores are not considered official, and you will still be required to send your official test scores through the testing agency.

Statement of Purpose

If your graduate program requires a Statement of Purpose, you will be able to enter that here. Generally, the Statement of Purpose should be a concise and well-written essay that indicates why you’re qualified for a graduate program. Be sure to include your career goals after graduate school, how your academic and research background have prepared you for graduate school, as well as how the program you are applying to will help you reach your goal.

Provide information (if applicable) regarding:

• Personal and family college history
• Future academic plans
• Data gathered for internal analytics
